How to Use Libby for eBooks & eAudiobooks

What you need:

  • A valid Allen Park library card & PIN number
  • Libby for OverDrive App from the App Store
  • Wi-Fi access

Installing & Authorizing the Libby App:

  • Search the App Store for the Libby for OverDrive app. Open the app once it is installed.
  • Click Find My Library and select Download Destination.

Downloading your eBook:

  • Click Add Your Card & search for the Allen Park Library.
  • Sign in with your Allen Park library card & PIN number.
  • Find a Book or Audiobook title you want to borrow. Click on the title & select Borrow. If the book is currently checked out, you can place a hold on it and be notified by email when it becomes available for download.
  • Click Go To Shelf. The book should automatically download.
  • Once the eBook is downloaded, it will appear in the Libby app with an icon displaying the days remaining in the loan period.
  • Tap the book cover to begin reading.
  • The eBook will automatically be returned on the expiration date.

What you need:

  • A valid Allen Park library card and PIN number
  • Libby App from the App Store
  • Wi-Fi Access

Adding Partner Libraries:

  • Click the 3 lines in the center of the menu at the bottom of the screen
  • Click Add Library
  • Search for a partner name & click on it
  • Sign in With My Card
  • Choose your home library from the Partner Libraries list
  • Enter your library card number
  • Enter your PIN
  • Click Next
