Summer Reading 2022
Oceans of Possibilities at the Allen Park Library!

JUNE 18 - JULY 29
Summer Reading is here and you'll have a whale of a good time with "Oceans of Possibilities"! Like last year, all Summer Reading activities, programs and reading logs will be hybrid. However, unlike last year, the COVID pandemic is slowly dissipating. What does that mean for you? Summer Reading 2022 will see a return of some beloved in-person programs including the Kick-Off Party, Friday Nights on the Patio and the Carnival. Furthermore, we are elated to announce that all programs will be at the library for your convenience and ease of access to all our splendid materials.

Make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for all new episodes of our returning virtual
shows, Mad Dan and The Explorians. Our popular Take & Make Craft Bags will also continue for children, teens and adults throughout summer.

To participate in the reading challenge, simply log your reading to earn badges and rewards.
For every 180 minutes spent reading, you'll earn a grand prize entry! Certificates will be given
to every participant that completes 12 hours of reading. Prizes and completion certificates will be awarded at the end of the program.

Reading logs and the new activity challenges will also be taking a hybrid approach this year.
For those who prefer pencil and paper, physical logs may be obtained at the Kick-Off Party or
at the Circulation Desk anytime thereafter during summer reading. For paper participation,
simply fill in the circles on your fishy reading log for every 15 minutes read. Once complete,
return it to the library with your name and phone number and your fishy will to take a swim in
our new aquarium.

For those interested in participating virtually, register or login on our Beanstack platform
to log reading time and challenges. Download the new Beanstack Tracker app on your smartphone or tablet so you can log your books & activities on the go! It is very easy to use but if you need help, please refer to the cheat sheet below or call the library to speak with Ms. Brandi or Ms. Lauren.

Whale sea you at our Summer Reading 2022 Kick-Off Party on Saturday, June 18 @ 10:30 AM - 12 PM!
